The Maker's Story
Hi, I'm Conor
For most of my life, I worked in offices — building a career that was steady, sensible, and safe. But even in the middle of that world, I felt a pull toward something quieter and more honest. I wanted to make things with my hands. I wanted to create objects that carried the beauty of the Irish landscape, not just sit behind a desk watching the years pass.
Eventually, that pull became impossible to ignore.
Airgid grew from that leap. Every ring I shape and every bowl I turn begins with something real — sterling silver, or wood gathered only from naturally wind‑felled Irish trees. These materials already hold their own stories: storms, seasons, and the slow shaping of nature. My work is simply to honour them. To cut, turn, sand, and polish until the form feels true.
My workshop in Cork is small, but it’s where I finally feel at home. Here, I work slowly and intentionally, creating pieces that carry the marks of human hands and the character of the land they came from. No mass production. No shortcuts. Just honest craft, shaped with care.
Airgid (the Irish word for silver) is the result of choosing meaning over certainty — a reminder that beauty can come from taking risks, following instinct, and trusting the people who stand beside you. Every piece I make is a reflection of that journey, and I hope it becomes part of yours.
